Michigan Fishing Report July 29, 2010
Now that the peak of the full moon is behind us and things are settling down from last weekends weather the fish are starting to snap and grab again. Consistent action now on Blood Run Wire Divers, Blood Run Super Coppers in 350 and 450 foot segments again are doing most of the damage. Dreamweaver Lures Spin Doctors and flies hang off every rod. Slight shift in the spin doctor color pattern this week with the cold water having moved in. We visited Lakeshore Outfitters in Saugatuck yesterday and grabbed a handful of spin doctors from Aaron as we are out of that particular color. If you stop in and see Aaron he will get you set up with one of the spinnies that is starting to emerge as a new front runner for us. A typically hot color pattern for August but with an interesting fly behind it. Starting to work some plugs into the rotation as well, again, Aaron at Lakeshore Outfitters has our favorite Silver Horde Ace Hi patterns in stock so be sure to stop by and ask him what is working for us… Should be a great weekend weather and fishing wise…looking forward to some hot action!
Back down to earth…for today
The fish won today….the few that were hanging around that is. Tight lipped is an understatement as our boats were shut down to a 3 fish average today. The waves were 3-4 out of the north early then 4-6 in the afternoon, with a strong northeast wind. Marked some decent fish, but nothing of significance materialized. The water has moved without question and has the fish laying low for now. Weather should stabilize and fishing should improve this week..

45 fish today on Profishient Charters boats out of Holland and Saugatuck Michigan. Nice King Salmon up to 18lbs as well as Lake Trout to 10lbs. Best action continues to be on Blood Run Wire Divers teamed up with Dreamweaver Lures Spin Doctors. Best colors were white blades with green flies today. Blood Run Super Coppers were surprisingly slow on our boats today, however the biggest fish of the day all came on the 450 foot segments of 32lb Blood Run Super Copper. Awesome fishing continues and the weather looks to improve for the second half of this weekend and into next week.. Fish on!
Saugatuck Holland Fishing Charter July 22, 2010
Fishing continues to be steady but slowed from earlier in the week. Both Profishient boats fished this morning, both going 11 for 20 with a nice mix of kings, coho and steelhead. Blood Run Super Coppers slowed a bit as well, though the wire divers continue to be excellent with Dreamweaver Spin Doctors and flies. One of our boats did play with an 11″ Dreamweaver paddle on the chute and took 5 of the 11 on that rig. The water has warmed a bit since earlier in the week, which may have resulted in the fish shifting their location slightly. Strong storms tonight should make things even more interesting for our trips this weekend!

Slower bite today with 8 fish coming to each Profishient and Profishient 2. Current coming from one direction, wind from another, and waves from yet another. Couldnt set up a good troll. Dreamweaver Spin Doctors again dominate, 450 foot super copper 32lb is the hot copper rig right now with an 8″ custom spin doctor. Looking for the water to stabilize and get the fish on the feed hard again. They are still there!
